This merino wool scarf is wonderfully soft and does not itch. It is ethically made in India by artisans. The fine wool is also from India and of a high quality. The spinning, weaving and dying is all handwork. One side of the scarf is dyed darker than the other, creating a wonderful gradient.

For the production of these merino wool scarves we work together with a partner organisation from India. They make sure their employees are paid a fair wage for their work. The artisans live in the countryside of Rajasthan and work from home. The merino wool is spun by women, while men take care of weaving and dyeing. The weaving of one of these scarves takes around a day.
The creation of fabrics entirely by hand is called khadi in India. Read more about it here.
