This natural kantha throw is made from natural off-white cotton. Light and neutral with subtle embroidery in a running stitch, it suits minimal interiors. In the Bengal tradition this stitch is called kantha.
The throw is made from unbleached cotton, naturally cream or ivory coloured. The stitching has two colour options. Either blue cross stitching at the border and three different blues all over the blanket, or red border stitching and red, green and yellow kantha stitching on the blanket.
At the moment we only have the throw with blue stitching in stock. The throw with red stitching can be made to order. Send us an email for more information!
size: approximately 100 x 200 cm
Unlike most of our kantha sari blankets, this natural kantha throw isn’t made from recycled saris, but from new, unbleached cotton.
The kantha plaids are produced by an organisation in Dhaka, Bangladesh. They offer a safe workplace to women and girls who have been freed from forced prostitution. Needless to say offer a living wage, but also training opportunities and childcare are provided. Because of this the women can create a better life for themselves and their families.
